Supporting AWS & GCP Retail Partnerships for DataArt (US)

Dataart retail partnership page

Snapshot

  • Industry: Retail Technology / Cloud Ecosystems

  • Team: Collaborated with a 7-person partnerships + marketing team

  • Timeline: 2021–2022

  • Core Problem: DataArt needed stronger ecosystem credibility and validated proof of success in retail to accelerate US growth.

  • Headline Result: Contributed significantly to DataArt earning the AWS Retail Competency, strengthening AWS/GCP partnerships and improving US retail positioning.

1. The Challenge

DataArt’s retail projects were strong, but the stories were dispersed across teams.
AWS and GCP needed:

  • Verified case studies

  • Clear articulation of retail capabilities

  • A unified point of contact with US retail knowledge

Without this alignment, DataArt risked being overlooked for co-selling opportunities.

2. The Insight

Cloud ecosystem partners—especially AWS and GCP—prioritize companies that can present repeatable, validated customer success in a specific vertical.

The most valuable contribution wasn’t just documentation.
It was framing DataArt’s retail experience in a way that matched how AWS/GCP evaluate partners and how US retail buyers make decisions.

3. The Approach

Working alongside a 7-person cross-functional team, I:

  • Collected, structured, and validated retail case studies to meet AWS Retail Competency standards.

  • Acted as a strategic reference for the US retail market — buyer behavior, opportunity areas, decision-making patterns.

  • Supported partnership conversations with AWS and GCP, serving as a consistent voice representing retail expertise.

  • Helped shape the messaging for how DataArt presents its retail capabilities to cloud partners.

  • Collaborated with engineering and delivery teams to document technical impact and measurable outcomes.

4. The Results

  • DataArt earned the AWS Retail Competency, supported by the case studies, evidence, and project narratives you helped gather and structure.

  • Strengthened AWS and GCP relationships, enabling more meaningful partnership conversations and improved visibility inside both ecosystems.

  • Enhanced credibility in the US retail market, giving partnership and sales teams stronger, validated stories to bring to prospects.

  • Accelerated co-selling opportunities by providing ecosystem partners with clearer retail-focused materials and success examples.

5. What We Learned

Cloud partnerships thrive on clarity and trust.
By bringing together scattered retail success stories and translating them into ecosystem-ready narratives, we made it easier for AWS and GCP to understand DataArt’s strengths—and easier for buyers to trust them.

This project underscored how a strategic storyteller can be just as critical to ecosystem growth as a technical architect.
